NO LONGER A PRIEST: Rev. Fr. Dieudonne AKAWUNG TAZISONG is Now Officially Mr. Dieudonne Akawung T.

Reverend Father Dieudonne AKAWUNG TAZISONG is no longer a priest, according to an update from the Bishop of Mamfe.

In a letter signed on February 20, 2023 by the Bishop of Mamfe, +Aloysius ABANGALO FONDONG, and addressed to all Clergy, members of Institute of Consecrated Life, All Societies of Apostolic Life, All Lay Faithful, and Diocese of Mambfe, it is now official that the Pope gave a favorable response to the priest's kind request to continue his services as a priest.

Sometime ago, Rev. Fr. Dieudonne AKAWUNG TAZISONG, priest of the Diocese of Mamfe, humbly requested from Popo Francis the dispensation from sacred celibacy and from all other obligations connected with sacred ordination to the priesthood. In response, His Holiness Pope Francis, through a Rescript of Dispensation, has graciously granted the request.

This letter means that Mr. (no more Rev. Fr.) Dieudonne AKAWUNG TAZISONG, according to Canon Law, is no longer under the bishop or other ecclesiastical superior, and no longer has any right to exercise any sacred ministry anywhere.

The former priest ends his carear while serving under the Mamfe Diocese.
