CREATION:
G B H S Fontem was created on September 15, 1980 with just eight (8) staff and 218 students, headed by Hon John Ategwa as the principal of the outstanding educational institution in Fontem.

EARLY PERFORMANCE:
From 1980 till 1986 the institution recorded the most outstanding performance with the student Asongayi Hillary Aroke [who later became a doctor in U.S.A] producing 27 points as follows;

APPELLATION:
The name G.B.H.S Fontem has evolved from G.S.S Fontem in 1980 to G.H.S Fontem following the need for higher education by the population as well as bilingualism promotion.
